InstantDrummer mentions

The InstantDrummer: Heartbreaker app made the "News" section at the deathcabforcutie.com home page, and subsequently got a mention in a Pitchfork review.

"Death Cab for Cutie really have their finger on the pulse of today's youth. First they recorded a single for the Twilight sequel New Moon. Now they've got a brand-new iPhone app-- their second. Next up: Death Cab for Cutie brand Tamagotchis! Kids still play with Tamagotchis, right?"

Oh Pitchfork, I love your sharp wit.

The Jason McGerr Sessions ReFill

In December of 2007, Drummerheads released the Jason McGerr Sessions ReFill with Propellerhead Software. It's sold in their online shop. There's a link to it on the right. With the upcoming release of Propellerheads' Record, I think there will be a renewed interest in the Jason McGerr Sessions ReFill. Record will come with guitar amp models from Line 6 and where there's guitar amp models, there's guitar players, and where there's guitar players, there's a need for acoustic drum loops and samples.

The only problem I foresee with Record and the Jason McGerr Sessions is that you'll also need Reason Version 4 in order to make it work. That'll be a pretty big investment for new users, whereas existing Reason users will be able to purchase Record and add it to their existing setup.

Because it was a downloadable ReFill product, we had to limit the ReFill size. So I've had quite a bit of content that's been sitting around my hard drive with nothing to do. But I think that will all see the light of day soon once the InstantDrummer iPhone apps start rolling out the door.

Here's the promo video Jason and Propellerheads put together for the product.
